Back in Greystanes, visiting Matt. But the drive was long. We drove 800km in one day. There are 1.6km to 1 mile. So it took some time. But rather than focusing on that, I defer to say that Byron Bay was absolutely beautiful and magical. The weather there exists like no other place in Australia that I have visited so far: never-ending blue sky, perfect waves, blue waters.

We hiked this monster staircase to view and experience the most eastern part of Australia:

There was a lighthouse we visited as well, but the beaches were the main highlight. We rented a surf board and Jef really ripped it. Sean and I had our go, but I must admit I was the worst. There were so many surfers and I totally respect theirlove for the ocean because even though I couldn't perform as well, IF I couldhave done it I'd be addicted. We all want to return here and live someday--it's that great.

The nightlife was fun, we met a bunch of Australian girls on the beach after we hit up the bars and had a full night of dancing. Their is much live music and street performers throughout the town. So many tourist, too. We have seen a number of other travelers using the same van as we: "wicked" is the van, which boasts the most cultured vans for travelers with adventurous spirits. They are certainly designed for the young and lively. Our has characters from the TV show South Park on it, and although I dislike the show, I've grown attached the the van.

We take showers under the public shower used to wash the salt water off oneself, and who knew that Palmolive leaves such a refreshing clean scent after a full shower.. with shorts on!
Its been spectacular but very hard to leave such a wonderfully refreshing place.

So I'm in Greystanes spending the day with Matt while Jef and Sean head to the Blue Mountains with the hope of seeing some live roos! I hope they do. I needed a day to catch up with my blog and to relax a bit before our long trip to Melbourne, which is another 11 hour drive south. Wish us luck!

come on back and work for corporate america or at least Hilarys campaign, that's much more fun than hangin 10 or in your case doing face plants off the board.
